New Year 2013

It's been quite a while since the last post here but for 2013 we'd like to begin using the blog, if for no other reason than to have a nice record of the year. There are many days that are significant throughout the year, and whether they are activities, quotes, or just simply random events, this will hopefully serve as a good place for us to remember them. So that's the plan for this year... if you see new entries you'll know how diligent we are to keep things updated.

So the first day of 2013 had Alaina at her friend's house (after watching "The Hobbit" for New Year's Eve), Erik helping me cut some boards for the kid's cubby in the entryway, Issy doing crafts.  The only major incident (after Michigan AND Wisconsin losing) was the "melting of the plastic cutting board" in the oven.  Overall a good opportunity for a lesson in Tg of plastics (of course you now know this is Tim writing this) and no harm done, unless you were the board.

To start the new year off right, Annika decided she would use the scraps from my project and apply some of her carpentry skills learned in Papa Bob's woodshop to make a house for our cat, Cammy.  Take a look at the sanding video...!  (I decided against posting the video of her running the radial arm saw).
