First we had to call Papa Bob. This was only the last minute of the conversation. Last time she talked for over 24 minutes!
And, here starts the sing-a-long. She sang for a good 20 minutes, but here is the highlights. :) These are for you, Auntie Shirley!!

Funny sayings of the day....
Alaina was talking today about what went on while Miss Emily was here. They have today and tomorrow off, but Mama has to go to school! But, only for this year, I keep reminding myself! I really do like it! :)
So, back to the funny things....the kids had to pick numbers today to see who was going to go first.
Alaina: Yeah, mom, we had to pick numbers and I said 10, Erik picked 19, Annika picked 2, and Issy picked Apple.
Issy thought that was pretty funny. She was still laughing about it at dinner!!
Erik's birthday is tomorrow so I told them to make Erik some cards. I just read the one she wrote him:
Dear Erik, Happy Birthday! You are 7 years old! My teacher would say: I see gray hair coming! From Alaina
That is soooo not funny in our house!! Let's see....if he follows his mother's footsteps (or his nana or pupsi's) he only has 11 years to go! Oh if these children only knew what was in store for them!
That's all I have time for tonight. Have to go study my ear and nose. Well, a picture of one, anyway!

church
Today at church the big kids (Alaina and Erik) had Praise Kids during junior church time. Usually Alaina stays with us and Erik and Annika go downstairs. But, E and A had practice for the Christmas program so Annika went by herself. When Tim picked her up there was a laughter coming from her teachers and tears coming from Annika.
The teacher asked her where Erik was today. Annika's reply, "He went to a different church."
And, the tears were because her teacher spelled her name wrong.....AGAIN! "Mom! He spelled it with just one N, not 2 N's!"
She said it was her teacher Scott. I just told her to color him a picture and spell his name with just one T.
She's just a bit sensitive.
Last week was D day for her on Thursday. That just means they are focusing on that letter and she can bring in an item that starts with that letter. She was all excited to bring her D Duck.
Annika: I am going to bring my D Duck to school today!!
Mom: Hmmmm.....I did not know you had a D Duck!
Annika: Yeah, you know, mom.....My Hippo!!

What a week! Issy is talking and talking more and more. I love it. She is the sweetest little two-year-old in the world. She came down from her nap on Friday and as she was walking down the stairs she saw me. "Hi Mom! I just took a nap." She said it in her sweet, little Issy voice.....melt me!
Here is a few more pictures from our Halloween week. Annika went "all out" for the parade at the school. Even though she wasn't in the parade, she still got a lot of looks and laughs! She didn't want as much make-up on for Halloween. And, the funny thing, on Friday night she came downstairs with no make-up on. It was perfectly gone from her face. She said she used the magic stuff in my bathroom....meaning my make-up remover. A little concerned, I went up to my bathroom but didn't find any evidence of make-up being removed! So, just let it go. On Saturday I took a shower and was getting ready. I just glanced up to the ceiling and above the shower and tub was about 5 make-up filled cotton balls stuck to the wall. That is what I was looking for the day before! But, I was looking for them around the garbage and sink!

I'm back....I think!
Isn't it funny that when you have "stuff" to do that aren't so much fun, laundry, cleaning and even updating the blog seems more of a priority?! I have a few tests this week that I should be studying for, but, nope! My house is getting clean and I'm updating.....lovely!
So, a lot has happened since I last wrote in June. I didn't mean to just quit this, but all of a sudden its November 1st. Wow. Time does fly. To think it was 12 years (!!) ago that Tim and I went on our first date. A Timberwolves/Hornets NBA game. Very fun! I laugh when I think about it. And, it all went from there!!
It was Halloween yesterday. What a fun day.
Here Issy is practicing her "surprised" face!

Ready to go....too bad now days we don't go a lot of places without Kiki. She had to come trick-or-treating with us, too! Issy wore her costume from 1:30 to 8:00 on Friday. She would not take it off. Then last night our neighbor had to bribe her to take it off! She loves being a pumpkin!!

All Four. See that bat?! Oh, that ugly bat! Tim came home from Costco with that thing about 2 months ago. He was so excited and thought it was so cool. I don't really agree, but it just hung out there for a few hours. Now its back safely in the box.

Erik wanted to be a ghost. The picture that I copied from the internet looked pretty cool. Its pretty close....I just was worred someone would mistake him for a bride! And, yes, a drunk woman did. She sang "Here Comes the Bride" from across the street. Luckily he didn't hear her! Some people.....

Issy only trick-or-treated at two houses. She's a little bit blocked by the pumpkin bag! She was content to sit in the wagon and just ride.

The kids didn't get as much candy this year as in years past. That is a good thing! But, they still picked out their favorite 15 and the rest went back in their bags by the front door. The candy fairy picked it all up and left them all a small toy. Now, I just wonder what the "candy fairy" does with all that candy??!!

Well, all is going well and its time to get back to what I HAVE to do! Tim is up at the Packer/Viking game and the kids and I have had a good day. Its time to get some supper and wind down a bit before bed! Issy just came in here and told me to "stop." I guess that means I need to be done.
I just stopped and she said, "good girl, mommy!!" Too cute. :)
Have a great night!!

stuff
Okay, that video will give you nightmares, so its time to move on from it! Next week is FINALLY the last week of school. It seems like it is never going to get here! But, I won't get into all that. I did want to share a few things that Annika has said the past few weeks:
"Mom, don't worry, I put the rugs back in my shoes. They just fall out when I take my shoes off!"
"Why did you have to fire the worms?" Explanation....we had two tent worm nests in our front trees. I remember in my younger days we would find a nest and cut it out of the tree and then torch it. I was having a "moment" on Monday, so I cut them down and took a lighter to them. I remember the worms crawling out and screaming as they would shrivel up and die. Sounds horrible, so why was it so fun? After being not so successful, it was a really windy day, I took a can of Scrubbing Bubbles to them. I learned the other day after running out of wasp spray that the Scrubbing Bubbles works quite well. Both are foamy and toxic and got the job done! Anyway, a few worms were left on the driveway and the next day Annika saw them and said, "Mom, why did you have to fire all these worms?!" Yes, worms, YOU ARE FIRED.
Today is another cold, rainy day. Summer is just having a hard time getting here. We went to the Aquarium last weekend....very fun. :) And now, this week my parents come down for Alaina's dance recital and Friday my mom and I take Amy to NYC for her 30th birthday. Watch us on Good Morning America Monday morning, the 15th! My mom and I are more Today people, but not Amy. So, I guess she wins out being it is her birthday trip!
I'll post some pictures later along with the other Annika quotes that I forgot at the moment! I guess fried mommy brains are a real thing....right now I have to go feed the kids!
